Comfortable as usual, but jus slightly under-cushioned
"I love Thorlo's for all my athletic endeavors and over the years have settled on their tennis crews as the most cushioned of their socks. I decided I wanted to start using Thorlos for my everyday walking around and casual sneaker use, but didn't want white socks (the only color for the tennis crews). I ordered some gray and some black hiking crews, with the designation "Maximum Cushiob". I've been wearing them a couple of weeks now and they are very comfortable, as usual for Thorlos. But the cushion doesn't seem as "maximum" as the tennis socks and, while still probably better than any other walk-around socks I've tried, they fall a little short of my expectations for cushioning. Overall, I would buy them again and am pleased compared to non-Thorlo socks. But since they were called "Maximum Cushion" and fall short of the tennis socks' cushioning, I had to rate them only 4 stars. I wish Thorlo made the exact tennis sock in a black/gray/brown for everyday wear."
